Welcome to the world, Ella!

So a lot of things have happened in the last few days! On Sunday, October 23, 2011 Ella Marguerite Fryer was born! She was 8lbs 1oz and 20 inches long. :)

The day before her birth, I was lying around, probably feelng quite large and moany. Here is the last picture of me pregnant before she was born.

Little did I know, that labour was only a few hours away and Ella would follow soon afterwards! It was a long slow labour, starting at 3am on Saturday morning and not ending until 12:05pm on Sunday afternoon, but she is worth it. :)

(You can still see the fear in my eyes, that I thought she might never come out!)
Oh, hi Daddy!
Proud new cousins, Hailey and Erin!
A special shout out to my sister, Alyssia who spent 12 hours in labour and delivery with Steve and I. :) She was an amazing support to have around during the labour and was the first family member to meet baby Ella. Thank you for all your love and support not only during the delivery but general advice on pregnancy and being a mom as well!
Another special shout out to Nana and Poppy! Thank you for taking care of our first born son, and for all your love and support over the years. Also, thank you for allowing Steve and I much needed naps after the birth! We are lucky and Ella is lucky to have you guys in her lives. :)

Other special shout outs go to Auntie Lisa Fryer for coming to visit us on Day One (no picture here, as Lisa equally hates hospitals and photo taking!) and to Mama and Papa F (now Grandma and Grandpa F!) who have been sending all their love and well wishes from PEI. Ella can't wait to meet you guys!
I'll close this post (it's getting long!) with another picture of our gorgeous daughter. Thank you to all our friends, family, and loved ones for your loving messages, visits, food (!) and general support and love to Steve, Ella, Wyatt and I.

All our love!

38.5 weeks!

So I have a feeling these may be last bump pics (wishful thinking? ha!) so I wanted to get them uploaded. I've been having some pretty strong contractions on and off for the last few days and some other early labour signs so its all very promising! Or it could be weeks. OB appointment today and hopefully we get a clearer picture of a timeline.

Anyway, enjoy the 38 week pics!

A quick picture showing how much Bean has dropped in the last 3 or 4 days.
Wyatt doesn't know what to make of all this.

I think Bean has dropped!

So while looking at my stomach in the mirror this morning, I noticed a ledge where I hadn't noticed one before. It feels squishy, and not hard like it used to! Maybe Bean has dropped a bit from all those Braxton Hicks?

What do you think?

Perhaps its wishful thinking...

13 days to go!

I am officially on Maternity Leave!

So I am officially on maternity leave! Yesterday was my last day of work. I love my job and being a physiotherapist. I don't know how to be a mom yet (although I'm sure I'll love it even more when I figure it out). It's just scary to be happening all at once! For weeks and weeks its something that is happening in the future. Well, the future it now! Ha. Bean is fully baked officially now and can come at any time. Its crazy to think that labour can start any time from today up until (God forbid!) 4 weeks from now.

Anyway, here are my 36 and 37 week pics. :)

(I just realized you can see the creases on my tummy from sleeping on that side. Whoops!)

While I am at it, I wanted to post this picture of my gorgeous nieces at Thanksgiving. :) Awww. Love those girls!

34 and 35 Week Shots

I am super behind in posting these, but here they are! Only about a week until Bean is considered 'Full Term'. Crazy! Also, I can't believe it's October already. Where has the time gone? Other things of note: the end of pregnancy is starting to feel a lot like the beginning. No one tells you that the deep fatigue, headaches, and morning sickness comes back! I thought I was done with that in the first trimester, but apparently not. Oh well. Only 2 more weeks of work to go!

Our Nursery is Complete!

So after many weeks of planning, painting, organizing and putting together furniture our nursery is finally complete! Here are some pictures of the finished product. :)

The mobile and new curtains (blackout panel made by Steve!):

Steve's grandmother was an accomplished rug maker. This rug was made by her. :) It means a lot to us to have it as a part of the nursery and to have her memory close by. And for some reason, Wyatt loves it. He often spends his afternoons napping away on the rug.
Diapers and changing table are ready! And the dresser is filled with onesies and feety jammies.
And my bag and baby's bag is packed for the hospital!
All of this organizing has tired Wyatt and me out. We are off for a nap!
Love,

Kaite, Steve, Wyatt and the only one week until fully baked Bean!

Maternity Shoot

This weekend we also had a maternity shoot done with the lovely and talented Maricel Salalila. We went to Trinity Bellwoods park to do some outdoor shots, and then back to our house / nursery to finish it up. We are so pleased with how they turned out! Thanks Maricel for your wonderful pics! We love them!

Here are some of the pics. :)

For some reason, I'm having trouble uploading them all. :)

Enjoy!
