So this weekend was full of nursery preparation. Its amazing how much time putting together furniture and taping / painting actually takes. Phew. Anyway, here is the progression of our nursery this weekend.
We started with taping. This took about 3-4 hours. I thought it would take 20 minutes. Slap it on, eyeball it to make sure it looks straight and you are on your way! This is why Steve and I make a good pair. For all of his perfectionism, and my joie de vivre, it actually ended up working out. We used a lazer level, measuring tape and a lot of time.
From here, we ended up first painting the edges of the stripes by hand, and then filling them in with rollers. Again, I would have just rollered, but this is why everything Steve does ends up so fancy! Here are the pics from the hand painting, about halfway done around the room.
Now, the moment of truth: taking off the tape. If the paint leaked or ran or didn't end up with nice lines, all this work would have been for nothing.
Success! (For the most part). A few areas needed minor touch ups, but all in all, it looked just like we had wanted.
After the walls were done, Steve and I put together the crib.
And then the rocking chair. For some reason, the screws that came with the ottomon were not long enough (damn you Babies 'R Us!) but Steve will buy some longer ones from Home Depot and it will be fine. Phew. Again, not my domain!
I'm tired just posting all this. :)
Here are my 31 week pics, to finish off this post. Enjoy!
Hope you had a fabulous long weekend!
Love,
Kaite, Steve, Wyatt and Bean
