Maternity Shoot

This weekend we also had a maternity shoot done with the lovely and talented Maricel Salalila. We went to Trinity Bellwoods park to do some outdoor shots, and then back to our house / nursery to finish it up. We are so pleased with how they turned out! Thanks Maricel for your wonderful pics! We love them!

Here are some of the pics. :)

For some reason, I'm having trouble uploading them all. :)

Enjoy!

32 and 33 Week Shots and Nursery Update!

Oh man, I'm super behind updating this blog lately! I've been napping every night after work, exhausted style. Not long to go now! We have been blessed by two baby showers thrown to us by our friends and family. We are lucky to be surrounded and supported by so many friends and loved ones. Thank you to all of you. :)

Our nursery is almost done! The change table has two fresh coats of paint on it, and new knobs. We have linens for the crib, and we have a new Ikea Expedit bookshelf (that's for you, Kirsten!) that allows us way more storage. Check out the pics. :)

And here are the 32 and 33 week shots! I think Bean is lower in the second one. He/she likes out to hang out, low style!
33 weeks!

A busy weekend for our nursery!

So this weekend was full of nursery preparation. Its amazing how much time putting together furniture and taping / painting actually takes. Phew. Anyway, here is the progression of our nursery this weekend.

We started with taping. This took about 3-4 hours. I thought it would take 20 minutes. Slap it on, eyeball it to make sure it looks straight and you are on your way! This is why Steve and I make a good pair. For all of his perfectionism, and my joie de vivre, it actually ended up working out. We used a lazer level, measuring tape and a lot of time.

From here, we ended up first painting the edges of the stripes by hand, and then filling them in with rollers. Again, I would have just rollered, but this is why everything Steve does ends up so fancy! Here are the pics from the hand painting, about halfway done around the room.
Now, the moment of truth: taking off the tape. If the paint leaked or ran or didn't end up with nice lines, all this work would have been for nothing.
Success! (For the most part). A few areas needed minor touch ups, but all in all, it looked just like we had wanted.
After the walls were done, Steve and I put together the crib.
And then the rocking chair. For some reason, the screws that came with the ottomon were not long enough (damn you Babies 'R Us!) but Steve will buy some longer ones from Home Depot and it will be fine. Phew. Again, not my domain!
I'm tired just posting all this. :)

Here are my 31 week pics, to finish off this post. Enjoy!
Hope you had a fabulous long weekend!
